2013 Heart Walk
The 10th annual Heart Walk was held on May 2nd on the campus of CaroMont Regional Medical Center. Over 700 people participated raising $21,200! Daniel Tuffy did an over the top job again this year as the Chairperson, as did Beate Graeter who served as the Co-Chair.
There are so many people who worked really hard to raise money for the Walk that we can't mention them all. But we would like to recognize The Challenge Walkers from CaroMont's Housekeeping Department as the team that raised the most money, and Glenda Smith as the CaroMont employee who raised the most money. Photos of these wonderful folks will follow soon.
For the second year, Barbara Gardin was recognized as the individual who raised the most money. She put so much of her time and energy into supporting the Walk again this year that she collected almost $1,500!
Barbara used her talents as a fabulous cook to do bake sales and cater lunches for her fellow co-workers at Hunter Douglas, while using her vacation days to coordinate everything. She also received support from her church members and her family. It is no surprise that she is already making her game plan for the 2014 Heart Walk! Way to go Barbara!
